Easter Collectibles

Easter

Lots and Lots of Bunnies.  Early to mid century paper mache’ easter bunnies are the standard for Easter at St John Antiques.  Add to that a super collection of pre World War 2 tin chocolate molds from both Europe and the USA and you can be set for Easter decorating.

The candy mold collection is worth describing because it is really fabulous.  We bought out a collection from a candy store in the midwest that opened in 1911.  They used the molds to make their chocolates and later to decorate the shop.  We stopped counting at 180 chocolate molds.  And some of these absolutely belong in a museum.  Besides the chicks and bunnies you’d typically find at Easter, there are characters that will blow away the serious chocolate mold collector.  Just to list a few: the swan, parrot, steamship, early airplane, train, automobile, zebra….. all are fantastic.
