Toys
The toys at St John Antiques span in age from the early 1900s to the 60s. We generally look for toys in good used condition, toys that still “work” and toys that were not abused. Harry’s toys from the 50s would never pass muster at this shop as they were used and abused to oblivion. So, we have a big display case of toys at your left when you enter the shop. Without going into a lot of details, we sell toy sewing machines, tin and cast trucks and planes, early tin toys (early like from the teens) that include working sand toys and other things. We also have a really nice porcelain gumball machine (including keys) and a super fine 1930s “trade stimulator” slot machine that was made in Chicago. (more of a big kid’s toy). We also have a nice selection of Fisher Price wooden pull toys from the 60s.
